11 April 2008 - Ultimate Kokoda Trekkers leave on the start of their journey
That brave lot, off to Kokoda to do the same trek as the kids did last year, but in reverse, departed tonight on their first leg, on the bus to Sydney.

These guys have been building up to this - for months they have been seen wandering around Tumbarumba with steadily increasing in size and weight backpacks, getting ready for this coming fortnight.

The excitement was palpable, as Judy could attest, she couldn't wait to get going! Her family were all there to see her off.
Many families and friends were there to see their loved ones on their way.
Some of them were pretty excited by the whole thing too!
Chris enjoys one of his few remaining beers before the hard slog ahead, Nickie will be joining him over there sometime in the next fortnight. She leaves with the second group on "A Taste of Kokoda", next Friday the 18th, and they will be meeting up with the first group at Abuari/Alola, and both groups will be commemorating ANZAC day at the Isurava Memorial.

We wish you all well guys!
